Wow – what a day!

Following the announcement last November that our charity had been recognised with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, Sue Smith and myself were honoured to attend a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 12th May.

This was an incredible privilege and (you won’t be surprised to know) we talked a lot about our amazing team at our Tamworth based charity, (Tamworth Wellbeing and Cancer Support Centre). This award reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work of our lovely team of volunteers, and supporters over so many, many years, and it was a real honour to represent everyone who plays a part at the Centre.

It was truly an incredible day which we will never forget. We were so fortunate with the weather, meeting some amazing people who all felt privileged to see King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

What a wonderful time we had, with a beautiful tea before we enjoyed walking in the lovely gardens to the music played by two military bands. It was a truly amazing afternoon that left us feeling proud of our team, privileged to represent you and full of gratitude to our clients who allow us to sensitively support them in difficult timesand make a difference to them and their families.

Thank you so much.

Cathy Tibbles and Sue Smith.
